The artist

“Dead walnut wood (Tocte) from Bolivia (Beta) was used for this piece. Since the tocte was not enough to complete the face’s full circumference, I used copper to complete it. Copper was also used for the finishing touches. I drew the face on wood, I set the measurements right there and carved it directly, therefore the expression was coming up naturally, from the toctes’ properties.”
