The artist

“I decided to make art of this size because it is easier to manipulate the metal on my own, since the copper has to be heated around 10 times.

It was made between 1985 and 1990. It represents difficult experiences of couples, love and disappointments. It shows a period of despair and resignation; a solitary internal struggle; nevertheless, each time with more strength.

It was awarded with the “First Prize of Artistic Creation in Copper” in 1993, in a contest organized by the University of Chile and Pro-copper. This meant a big milestone for me as a northern artist, since it allowed me, for the first time, to set myself with my peers and, at the same time, comfort my self-esteem.”
