The artist

“This work was born of a request that was never completed. I was told in the University of Tarapaca ,where I work as a teacher, that they needed a copper plate as a gift to honor a special guest. I designed the piece with an ancient reminiscence (that’s where the name comes from). I made an Andean woman with Los Andes as a background, and her braids fñying across the wind, and her patrimonial textiles. The gift offering was never done, so I kept working on it meticulously all year long.”
