The artist
“In the beginning I just had to make a piece for a documentary. I can make a face without a problem, I can make it while I am talking. I was doing it for a year, until I realized that I had to think about what it would wear on its head, and decided that it would not have hair, but a crown. For it, I chose a long design like the one of the birthing llama, giving it an identity connotation.
But I realized that I could not frame it because I was always short of space. Then, Carlos told me that I could not put a frame, thus I got the idea to lengthen the figure up and down below, by means of bronze rods.”
