The artist
“I used the tubes to make Tibetan bowls, deep plates made out of copper. Then, it struck me that if I could make bowls, I could also make a face, so I set on doing it. In many pieces I use that same necessity to invent something new, to experiment on something different, to intervene with metal. To enjoy that new creation… that is what it is about.
I always use that method of discovering new things to do. It is about a serious game, not a playful one, it is about a complex satisfaction that mixes intellect, technique, emotion, and morality.”
