The artist

“I made this piece to participate in the “Carved in Wood” exhibition in Peru. I chose dead eucalyptus from the chimba, Chinchorro area of Arica. First, I worked on the bronze embossing since it is harder to change the shape, it is the one in charge. Then, I carved the wood so the bronze could fit in the eucalyptus to achieve the effect of a face inside a long hairdo.”
