The artist

“The distance and not being able to see the “earth” developed my projects during my stay at Bilbao. They are “unconscious” projects, unconscious drawings, since I do not use my consciousness, they appear on their own when I feel detachment and distance. One of the sketches was like this… like Pachamama.

Then in 2005, when I arrived at UTA, Jorge Manriquez told me: “Make a Fondart project”. And that is how I made a woman coming out from the earth. In this case, I change it to coppery natural stones in harmony with the copper of the woman.

This piece has its foundations in Bilbao, Spain, while I was studying to receive my doctorate from 2000 to 2004.”
