La artista

“This piece was unfinished from 1999 to 2004. After I traveled to Spain, I could not remember what was the design of the creation. At that point, there were no sketches since I worked directly on the metal. I gave form to an eye, a mouth, and a nose, everything else was big volumes. After several days, it occurred to me to carve some “Vilacaurane” llamas on its surface, a pictograph that exists in the proximity of Putre.

When I came back from Spain, I felt that I had to go back to my roots. I began to include petroglyphs in my compositions. The talks about my identity overseas created a desire to get back in touch with my origins. I threw myself into my identity.”
