Warmi Inti

Material: Copper
Technique: Embossing, Chiseling and Openwork
Iconography: Illumination
Location: Personal collection
Description: Three-dimensional artwork of 15.7” (40 cm) x 39.8” (100 cm) x 3.9” (10 cm). A composition based on the close-up of a feminine face illuminated by the sun. This work is the only one in my collection that is functional, since it includes a basic system of electrical illumination.

The artist

“It is the only functional piece I own because it is made to illuminate, therefore it requires electricity for the openwork sun in one of its corners. It takes a lot of time and dedication to make this kind of piece. It is a woman and the sun, an abstraction that elevates Tata Inti. It illuminates and irradiates precious light and heat for the mother Earth, Pachamama.”
